Wireless Earbuds - Things You Should Consider When Purchasing

Click Here to Purchase Our Bestselling Earbuds

As with any area of electronics, the constant advancement in bluetooth technology provides us with better sounding wireless audio on an almost daily basis.  One of the greatest advancements has come in the way of wireless earbuds.  These new earbuds provide several advantages over their wired cousins that are still included with even the most up-to-date audio equipment.

Of course, the easiest part of purchasing a pair of wireless earbuds is the decision to make the purchase.  After all, this new technology requires an investment of your hard earned money that, again, is quite a bit more than the wired earbuds that were included with that iPod you purchased last year.  Once the decision to purchase is made, there are a few factors you should consider to ensure you make a wise purchase that you will be comfortable with for the foreseeable future.

I personally believe quality is the first consideration with any purchase I make.  There is nothing worse than purchasing an item only to have it come apart or malfunction after very little use.  In addition to quality construction is sound quality.  If the sound is terrible, it matters little that your wireless earbuds last for years.  While quality almost always costs more, the added investment will more than pay for itself when you are still enjoying your purchase months later.

Another consideration you should not underestimate is comfort and appearance.  If your earbuds do not rest comfortably in your ears, you will never be able to utilize them for hours on end.  Also, if your ear buds make you look like you just stepped out of the Howard Cosell era, they will most likely find their way into the junk drawer right next to that Walkman that you thought was so cool back in the day.

If you find yourself in the market for a set of wireless earbuds, you will be well served to read the reviews of people that have actually purchased and used the models you are considering.  As you know, sales persons can sometimes be very knowledgeable but they can also sometimes steer you to the product that pays them the most commission.  If you find an item that receives great reviews by users in the categories mentioned above, you will likely make a purchase that will be satisfactory to use until the next latest thing hits the market.

Wireless Bluetooth Headphones Provide a Better Wireless Solution

A few years back, audiophiles experienced a small revolution  when wireless headphones were introduced.  Just think, no more being tethered with wires and confined to the ten foot radius that most wired headphones required.  However, using radio waves to transmit music proved to have its limitations.  Other products using similar technology such as portable phones would cause interference when both were used simultaneously.  Not to mention the fact that these headphones were notorious power hogs.  Well, like all things electronic, something new and better comes along shortly to take the place of the previous item and the latest trend in wireless technology are wireless bluetooth headphones.

Wireless bluetooth headphones only disadvantage when compared to previous wireless headphone technology appears to be somewhat more limited range.  Bluetooth technology allows for a transmission range of approximately 100 meters or 33 feet.  However, the advantages more than make up for this downside.  Bluetooth consumes very little power, thus allowing many hours of enjoyment without the need to be recharged after minimal use.

Wireless bluetooth headphones can also be used with multiple devices.  The older wireless headphones could only be used with say the stereo system that had an attached transmitter.  Modern wireless bluetooth headsets can be paired with all kinds of devices such as gaming systems, computers, PDAs, ipods, mp3 players, and of course the obvious, mobile phones.  We had all wondered why a person was talking to themselves only to later discover the ear bud in their ear that is paired to their cell phone.

Bluetooth technology also has found a cure for the interference that plagued the preceding technology.  When wireless bluetooth headphones are paired with a device, they only receive the signal from that device.  For instance, high quality audio is transmitted between the headphones and a mp3 player through the protocol known as Advanced Audio Distribution Profile.  Other protocols allow for the pairing of bluetooth capable devices with cell phones thus allowing for the making and receiving of phone calls.

One of the most popular uses of wireless bluetooth headphones today is computer gaming.  These headphones combined with an attached microphone allow the computer gamer to communicate with the gaming system and also with other gamers through the Internet.  This allows hands free communication that permits the free use of game controllers and again allows for free movement around the room being utilized.

As more and more devices are purchased on the electronic market today, it appears that wireless bluetooth headphones will continue to grow in both use and popularity.  That is, of course, until the next latest and greatest device comes along to send the bluetooth headphone the way of the eight track tape player.
